real life is killing me. T__T

as my new year's resolution, i am not going to read fanfiction until after the end of the semester... or more exactly, from last week (when i buckled down and committed to this) until after my last final exam (in mid-may) i will not read (or write, if i can manage) fanfiction.

god help me.

You need to amend this.
Seriously.
You can't just go cold Turkey.
Try: I will only read fanfiction when on vacation from school,
OR: I will only read fanfiction on the second weekend of every month.
Then, you'll have a much better chance of succeeding in avoiding the mass during your non-allowence periods.
You might need to start an archive of fics you like that update during your dry spots, though, or you may never have the will to catch up.

note that i did not forbid myself from reading, just from reading fanfiction. i get far more carried away with fic than i do with books, but i am still making significant progress in the david weber book i stole borrowed from cait. and anyway, my fallback is that i'll let myself write fic to relieve the pressure if necessary.

...livejournal is my archive. although i may have private-locked all those posts. otherwise your flist would be spammed with useless posts.

yeah, classes start tomorrow. i still have a couple things to do for that, actually... *sighs*

but guess what- i already finished that david weber book, off armageddon reef, and i got the second one with a giftcard already, too. yay for reading! cait gave me spoilers for the sequel (damn and blast!) so i'm super excited to get into it. but it's easier to put down a book than fanfic, imo. so i'm doing okay.

I find it equally hard to put down either or. Lucky me has mostly art classes this semester, though. Preperation for those is pretty minimal.
