What a neat project --- if there is an odd-shaped design that you love, it can go in the middle, perhaps, and be a focal point for the overall design? That way it doesn't disrupt the rest of the pattern. You do a mock setup, so that it takes into account the folding around the pillows, etc., and then you'll know where the optimal point is.
