and, yeah, i'm still a kid, but not like this:
yesterday jt and i were supposed to do punch lists for blake manor elementary in the morning and manor middle in the afternoon. but we get there at 8.30am and beau (the site manager) says that we can't punch because they have to rip out all the walls in c-wing. some kids came over friday night, broke in a back window, stopped up some faucets and flooded the whole c-wing, the music room and the art room. then they tipped paint buckets over on the library carpet and demonstrated their ability to write four-letter words on the library walls. goodie for them. so when beau gets there in the morning there's two inches of standing water running out the door, to a total of probably 2300 linear feet of water. thankfully the flooring is fine because they didn't use a water-based adhesive on the vct tile, BUT: the water got behind the base into the bottom two feet of all the interior walls. they must have had a hundred fans in there trying to get the water out, plus dehumidifiers running. insulation sucks up water like nobody's business, so all the exterior walls and the other insulated rooms are just plain coming out, down to the studs. this is setting them back by like a month, not to mention we have to re-punch all of this once they're done.
on the plus side, the kids who did it tipped out some black tar along with the paint, and that stuff sticks to you when you walk by it, so all the police have to do is go around and find kids with black mastic tar stuck to their skin, and there's our guys.
so now i get to spend ALL of today (we leave in 8 minutes and don't get back till 4.30 or 5 in the afternoon) punching manor middle school. joy. at least i'm not actually sitting in the office for the day, and i get lunch on the company. ^/__^ manor has mexican, or barbeque. yu~um... and i got twelve hours of sleep last night. that felt good....
