the opera is amazing.
zomg!!!
i went to see the ghosts of versailles at our college opera tonight; i just got back, in fact. it was my first time seeing an opera, and i absolutely loved it. *grins* it had a good plot, it was hysterical with a touch of unsophistication, and the singing/music was wonderful. and the costumes!!! they were fantastic!!! although i think my favorite aspect about the appearance of the actors was the absurd stage makeup they had on, which was visible when they all came out to the lobby after the performance. my friend katie played a couple minor roles, so we went to see her. but i'm glad it was such an engaging performance, because it was so bloody long!!! over three hours!!!
the most ironic part of the whole night is that in my english class, human situation, we just got done reading rousseau's letter to d'alembert, in which rousseau spends pretty much the entirety of 137 pages listing the reasons why the theatre is a disgrace and a sin and should not be allowed to continue. woot.it's so weird how i actually learn things in class nowadays. i feel kind of like i ought to pay attention, because of that.
well, i'm for bed, as soon as i plough through my homework. ta.
