prom!!!!!!

myurbandreamprom was yesterday. info for those of you (nz) who read this and don't go to mcneil. ^____^ it was fun!!!!! i was (if i do say so myself) quite pretty, and i swear i will never be that girly again until the next wedding i attend. pics will be up later, if i bother to figure out how to get them on here.
it took most of saturday to get ready for prom, which is really depressing to think about. i went to get my nails done at 10am, rushed home to vacuum like i promised mom i would, and promptly ruined them, while also managing to cut my thumb open quite nicely. *facepalm* bandaged myself up and went to kiki's house at 12.30pm to let her do my hair and make-up, which was fantabulous. we practiced it on wednesday- half my hair up in a bun in the back, with the other half curled and pinned around it, and a blue ribbon wound through the curls. so. pretty!!! also, 2 hours of work, ~120 bobby pins, half a can of hair spray, and a headache by the end of it all. i felt like i was getting a lobotomy what with all the metal back there, but i'm sure my hair was so solid that a bullet would ricochet. anyway, my dress was pretty cool- navy blue that faded to a light green aqua in the middle, with a black sheer material over top with aqua beads on. i had a black cape too, but it was too warm last night, so it lay all alone in the back of the car for the evening. my corsage and andy's boutonnière matched- white flowers, blue petals/ribbons. and his tux was light blue to match me as well. he looked spiffy!!! and i was pwetty.... *bashful* so was everyone, though, especially melissa!!!!! don't let her lie to you, she looked awesome!!!! (i loved her dress. so. much.)
we all ate at china cafe. (we: me, andy, bri, sav, alex, rhian, melissa, rachel, kim, bryce, kade, sam, anne.... is that everyone?) i kinda wanted italian because it was, y'know, prom, but oriental is my fav, so there was no real genuine disappointment on my part. ^___^ mm.... yum! then we went to prom, got there at ~9.30pm, an hour and a half late. it was pretty fun. i think the absolute best part was the choclate fountain. that thing was mesmerizing!!! you shishkebab your fruit and stick it right in the fountain and, viola, chocolate-covered fruit! and so~o delicious... danced a little, but didn't want to do any fast songs. (mortification waiting to happen, that, though melissa will tell you differently.) went to kirby lane with the group afterwards, but then we had to leave after a bit cause andy's curfew was 2.30am. (mine was 4am.) i got hot chocolate, tho! and i got to sleep in till like... 10.15am this morning. YESSS!!!!
in other news, we have FOUR DAYS of school left, not counting finals. woot!!!! and my brother's sweet sixteen golden birthday is this tuesday. (it is so not fair that my brother's golden birthday just happens to be his sixteenth. *envy* thankfully, he's rather grown out of the golden birthday tradition of my family, so i can rest easier.) i can't believe he'll be sixteen. i can still remember when he wanted me to read harry potter to him because he wasn't quite proficient enough to work through the bigger words. i can still remember chasing him around under the dining room table- when we didn't have to duck. *weeps* he was so cute then!!!! ^_~ my mom is going through the beginnings of empty-nest syndrome now that i'm moving out. *eyeroll* i do NOT look forward to that if i ever (god forbid) become a mother. well, i'm off to do... things. not homework. i realized earlier that our english paper is due next time.... but i don't have my rough draft. i think i left it with kunish, since she was grading them in class. *facepalm* 'wiederseh'n!!!
