oh my god. OH MY GOD!!!!!!!! *flails hysterically*

i just finished The Book like two minutes ago. and jkr did EVERYTHING i EVER reasonably wanted her to do. OH MY GOD!!!!!! sev! and lily! the closest canon will ever get to severitus, and closer than i could ever have imagined. YES!!! and the horcruxes- of course it was harry at the last, but he lived!!!! i never saw that one coming! and one of the twins died- i thought for a while she would leave it at george's wound, but she didn't- which i am sadistically grateful for, because artistically speaking it kind of had to happen, yeah? and i've never, EVER shipped harry/ginny, but they named their kids james, albus severus, and lily. OH MY GOD. the sev penseive- oh. my. god. and baby albus is adorable. and aberforth!! *snickers* and we got manipulative!albus but he WASN'T evil- which no fanfic has ever pulled off, in my experience. and harry never actually graduated from hogwarts. professor longbottom- HA!!! i just cannot get over how awesome this book was- IS. *ded* i feel bad for teddy lupin, though- she had to go and kill remus, my other favorite marauder!!! and sev!!! god, that woman killed off my three favorite characters! what the hell?!?! but oh, sev, you were wonderful.... *cries* i can't even ask that he lived, just like i can't ask that remus or sirius would have lived, because it was PERFECT. god. he finally got to be headmaster, too! even though he had to do it on voldemort's terms. bleach! i WAS almost disappointed that mad-eye wasn't just faking being dead- i held out hope 'til harry found umbridge with his eye. yay, percy!! (and zomg, kreacher! but yay for elf rights, too. hermione finally grew a brain about them. *impressed*) and y'know how the sixth book felt like a kind of fanfic that was decent but not spectacular? well, the seventh book is like the best fanfic you've ever read, and then better, because it's CANON. which is just AWESOME. i liked that so much of the book was so fast-paced that i'm not really clear on the details of how some scenes happened, but other scenes are permanent in my brain- rather like a huge drunken brawl that i'm remembering when the hangover has finally gone away. *whimpers* some of it seems nightmarish, but on the whole it was a blast, and i'm not really feeling the bruises yet. oh, sev.... i mourn him the most, i think.

*weeps* this is the best day of my life.

You know what I'm happy about??? Besides the fact that the book was absolutely awesome and wonderful and everything amazing under the sky - it's that I even hypothesized that Harry was going to be the final Horcrux! And I was right! *pats self on back* But I also thought that he was going to have to die to kill Voldemort, and I'm soooooooo happy the RKJ found a way around that!!!! And I totally agree about everything that you said, about Snape dying (I miss him and love him as a character - I didn't want him to die!) and Harry living! I loved what he and Ginny named their children, though of course, James and Lily were kinda expected. I loved that his youngest son was Albus Severus - a beautiful tribute! And of course, I'm so glad that the trio stayed together! I love them all and the happy ending certainly didn't bother me!!! =)

yes, totally, everything i expected to happen (read: everything that i would have done if i were jkr) played out exactly like i wanted to, and harry living at the end was just an added bonus! *grins* this book was awesome and then some! yeah, i always theorized that harry was the final horcrux and that sev was good- but man, jkr had me going there for a while! *vindicated* i win!!!!
